A new world championship in Dota 2 with a record prize pool has been announced

Saudi Arabia will begin hosting world championships in esports from 2024, which will become an annual event in Riyadh.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia made this statement, Reuters reports.

"The World Championship in esports is the next step for Saudi Arabia to become a leading global hub for gaming and esports"

According to him, players will compete in multiple disciplines with a huge prize pool and the opportunity to earn the title of the absolute world champion.

While Salman did not reveal details, it can be assumed that the disciplines will include Dota 2, CS, as well as other popular games.
