Team Spirit analyst explained in detail the new health regeneration mechanics introduced in patch 7.39. It completely changed the work of the previous systems, combining them into a single universal indicator.
Mark “Sikle” Lerman told about it in his Telegram channel.
Now such previously different parameters as physical vampirism, vampirism from abilities and health regeneration have been replaced by one common mechanic - health regeneration in percentages. It is important to note that this does not apply to healing, which is now counted separately.
Like the previous parameters, the new mechanics are stacked in descending order of effectiveness: the more sources, the less total benefit. However, Heal Amplification now works in a fundamentally different way - it stacks directly and has no limits.
This fixes old bugs, such as
Aghanims Scepter on
Omniknight, and brings heroes tied to healing, such as
Chen,
Dazzle,
Oracle, and
Io, back into the meta. Heal Amplification and Lifesteal can now amplify indefinitely, making items like Holy Locket relevant again despite their weakening.
The treatment of items that reduce the effectiveness of healing has also changed.
Orb Of Corrosion and Orb of Frost no longer reduce health regeneration, making them less effective against heroes with strong self-healing. Players will have to rely on classic items like
Spirit Vessel,
Eye Of Skadi or
Shivas Guard again.
Thus, the new system not only simplifies the understanding of recovery mechanics, but also seriously affects the meta, strengthening the role of heroes-healers and changing priorities when choosing items.
