Miroslav “Mira” Kolpakov, a Dota 2 player formerly associated with Team Spirit, cited the reason for him shifting to the five position to be a combination of more good heroes to play, better chances of winning, and personal liking of the role.

With in-depth reasoning behind his role switch, Kolpakov explained this during a Twitch stream that he had.

“For sure, there will be improvement because I already win more as a five. Have to play as a five to have fun. It is more fun to be a five simply because a five gets to play a much larger pool of interesting and good heroes”

He also mentioned how he had many fun heroes to play with which contributed to his win percentage. Exchanging positions also worked well for him, since playing as a five provided him the thrill he needed to enjoy the game. While revealing statistics regarding his position rates, Mira mentioned how he got to play a total of fourteen and fifteen matches as a position four and five within a timeframe of eight days, respectively.

Mira’s getting no support while attempting to finish the matches was unfortunate. Switching to a five position gave him much more stability as his win rate increased to thirty percent compared to his four position win rate which was only twenty eight percent. So switching roles was worth it after all.

The last mention of Team Spirit before ESL One Bangkok 2024 was their manager making a statement regarding Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov following Team Spirit loss.
