MinD_ContRoL Explained Why He Doesn't Want to Return to Professional Dota 2

Ivan “Mind_Control” Ivanov admitted that he no longer wants to tie his life to professional Dota 2.

The player made this statement on YouTube.

“To be honest, I don’t want to be involved with Dota anymore. For the last 15 years or even longer, my mind has been almost entirely occupied by the game. When I immerse myself in Dota, I can’t think about anything else—it always becomes my priority. It’s starting to feel a bit like an addiction. And it’s hard to balance. It’s difficult to play a little Dota and live a normal life at the same time. I can’t seem to strike a balance at all—I always go to one extreme or the other.”

According to a statement by Ivan “Mind_Control” Ivanov, the esports player has devoted more than 15 years to the game, and all this time his focus has been on improving in Dota 2. The esports player attributes this level of immersion in the game to an addiction, acknowledging that he finds it difficult to strike a balance between his career and personal life.
