Farid “Matthew” Puente stated that one of the
Thunder Awaken players was connected to an investor involved in organizing the 322 incident.
The player shared this information on X.
“Here’s what happened to me at Thunder Awaken: a guy who was an investor—and whom one player was actively sucking up to—told me, ‘Either he pays me, or your team won’t go to the tournament at all.’ In the end, I just kicked him out of the roster.”
According to Farik “Matthew” Puente, this investor threatened to cancel the team’s trip to the championship if the player refused to throw the match. The esports player noted that initially his teammate had reached out for help in the situation, but later admitted to organizing a fixed match, after which he was kicked out of the team.
“I talked to him about it; he asked me for help, but then he confessed himself. In the end, I kicked him, and that problem disappeared from my life. We calmly went on to play with the team.”
As a reminder, Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev previously explained why 322 incidents occur more frequently in Dota 2 than in Counter-Strike.
