Maksym Bilonogov: «The International was the main reference for OMEGA League theme»

Maksym Bilonogov - General Producer of WePlay! spoke in an interview for Forbes about the organization of OMEGA League.
Maksym reports that Omega League has taken on the role of online version of The International in order to interest the viewer with the teams, commentators and a non-standard approach to broadcasting that were supposed to be on TI:
One of the reasons this event is hosted on a global scale with teams from every competitive region is the idea that we make a version of The International online,” says Maksym Bilonogov, General Producer at WePlay! Esports. “We can’t recreate the true LAN setting with its atmosphere, shouting crowds, the banter between the players. Yet, we do everything possible to engage the viewers at home through the teams who were supposed to play at TI, the casters who also were supposed to work there, and our out-of-the-box approach to broadcasts.
In addition, Bilonogov claims that The International has become the main reference point for Omega League theme:
The International was the main reference for the OMEGA League theme,” says Bilonogov. “It’s the event where the best players from all parts of the Earth fight for the trophy. Yet, using The International as a theme wasn’t possible, so we looked for a concept with a similar idea. The Olympic Games, which take place every four years, seemed like a good choice. In the end, we settled on a concept of the Olympic Pantheon, where the commentators and analysts are the gods who observe and judge the matches from the top of the Olympus Mountain.
