A major scandal occurred in the grand final of ESL One Birmingham 2024

The grand final of ESL One Birmingham 2024 was won by Team Falcons who refused to shake hands with BetBoom Team opponents. This might have been due to an altercation in words between the two sides.

On his Telegram channel, Luka ‘Lukawa’ Nasuashvili – the manager for BetBoom Team – wrote about what happened.

“We lost and it is sad but that is how things go sometimes,” he said. “Trash talking is one thing, not shaking hands after the game is clownery. Well, everyone has a choice. If you do not respect your opponent then nobody will respect you – that’s all I think”

He found their move astonishing and believed it demonstrated poor sportsmanship from them. He added that while trash talk could be blamed as well; according to him such actions should never take place at any Dota 2 tournament.

Following their victorious 3-0 win over BetBoom Team, no statement has been made by anyone within or affiliated with Team Falcons regarding what took place afterwards.
