Vladimir “Maelstorm” Kuzminov stated that too tight tournament schedule negatively affects the players, as well as the preparation of teams for competitions. In his opinion, the DPC system was better due to the presence of breaks.
The Dota 2 commentator said in his Telegram channel.
“Tundra can be understood, as well as the others - tired. To be honest, I can't figure out how they perform at all. You can play as usual, but when every day is a world championship, and there are one or two of them literally every month, it's very easy to get tired. So you either play like a lowskill, or you prepare for every tournament, which is unrealistic, or you skip. I've been thinking lately that DPC wasn't that bad. It's not about the quality of the tournaments, it's about the break. At least sometimes you need a break”
According to him, the situation with
Tundra Esports and
Team Spirit refusal to participate in DreamLeague Season 26 shows the problem of overloaded tournament schedule. The commentator explained that due to the lack of breaks, cyber athletes are exhausted and cannot maintain their previous form. Some competitions they play just for the sake of checking a box, without putting in the effort due to fatigue.
Maelstorm emphasized that the DPC system now seems not so bad, because there the ratio of tournaments and rest time between them was optimal, allowing players and spectators not to be overloaded with competitive Dota 2.
Recall that earlier
Tundra Esports finally explained why they refused to play at DreamLeague Season 26.
