Maelstorm commented on the banning of smurf accounts

Vladimir Maelstorm Kuzminov referred to the professional players' reaction to Valve's wave of smurf account bans as a "kindergarten."

The well-known caster shared this opinion with subscribers on his Telegram channel.

"What a *** kindergarten. What do you think the wave of smurf bans will lead to? To worsened matchmaking? To problems for players in tournaments? To players repenting and regretting that they violated the rules? No, it will lead to this:

Oh, they banned smurfs for me, and why haven't they banned him? Damn, let's ban him too, why did they only ban me and not him."

The Valve ban wave began after a complaint from a Dota 2 community user on Reddit about the widespread use of smurf accounts by professional players in Eastern Europe. One of the first affected by the ban wave was Rostislav Rostislav_999 Protasenya, whom Valve began banning new accounts during a live stream. Steven StingeR Vargas from Mad Kings was particularly unlucky, receiving a ban during the qualifying match for DreamLeague Season 22, leading to his team's technical defeat.

It is worth reminding that earlier, Khaled sQreen El-Habbash commented on the groups at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 championship.
