M0NESY explained why he continues to play on FACEIT despite the ban

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov admitted that he knowingly broke zonic’s ban on playing FACEIT, in order to maintain his individual form.

He spoke about this in a post match interview at BLAST Open Spring 2026.

“I need FACEIT to keep high individual form. But we came to the point where because of FACEIT we all focus on personal performance, not teamplay. Before we used to go play FACEIT right after pracs, instead of reviewing demos and our matches. I think I will talk about it again with zonic”

The player noted that he wasnt very happy with the ban, even tho he understands why zonic introduced it. He explained that instead of reviewing matches, players would just go straight to FACEIT. This maybe helped individual skill, but negatively affected team practice.

M0NESY also said he plans to discuss this issue with zonic after the tournament. It is possible that the coach ban will be softened or even removed, which may depend on the results at the event.
