Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Tahasomi stated that before the second tournament of The International series, he stopped playing Dota 2 and did not plan to continue his esports career, but he was invited to join the team as a stand-in.
The Nigma Galaxy coach shared this on YouTube.
“The TI2 final is the reason I played Dota 2, because I had quit before that. It inspired me. I didn't want to play Dota. I was a substitute for... Some team. It was Mouz again. I didn't want to play at TI2. I didn't want to play Dota at all.”
According to Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Tahasomi, he was inspired to continue his esports career by Clement “Puppey” Ivanov's performance in the final, as well as the moment when the tournament winners lifted the trophy. After that, the player wanted to achieve the same result, feeling that he had enough potential to do so, and asked Puppey to take him on the team.
"Puppey was playing in the final, and I was watching: ‘Damn, man.’ He was doing so well that I wanted to come back. The moment when iG lifted the trophy ignited my heart. I felt that I could achieve the same thing. From that moment on, I started playing Dota actively. I wrote to Puppey: ‘Take me on the team’. That was 10 or 15 years ago."
As a reminder, Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Tahasomi, Johan ‘n0tail’ Sundstein, and Clement “Puppey” Ivanov got together at the PGL Wallachia Season 5 tournament.
