Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov,
Team Spirit manager, considers it a positive change that Valve decided to cancel the DPC, because if there were still only three major tournaments a year, it could have had severe consequences for the Dota 2 pro scene.
He revealed during a stream on Twitch.
"If there was a DPC - it would have been a lot worse. Before, when there was DPC, there was a lot of money in Dota, because there were Ints with Battle Pass. Now there's nothing. And if there was DPC with three tournaments a year - everything would be sad and sad. Let me be self-serving, but it would be sad and sad"
The manager explained that the DPC system used to be powered by The International with huge prize pools and Battle Pass support. Now, according to him, this is no longer the case, and the presence of only three major tournaments a year without additional financial support could have an extremely negative impact on the state of the professional Dota 2 scene.
Recall that earlier Yatoro recognized the problems in
Team Spirit and spoke about the consequences.
