According to Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov, the Team Spirit manager, many substitutions in OG were the cause of its problems, and they further culminated in poor performances.

“OG’s decline- why? Team decay- that’s it. This is a classic case of team decay. All great teams of the world and the region like Alliance, OG, VP, EG among others were super giants at one point in time but not anymore. They are not showing any results today. They all follow the same pattern: you have a great team and then you start making bad changes. Instead, they do not get new players who will strengthen the team or at least reach the level of those already present in it. And too many changes all at once – no single-targeted change only but two or three”

Korb3n highlighted that this has happened several times before on the pro scene, and he indicated that undertaking massive roster changes results in reduced performance. Korb3n stated that if smart choices could be made such a situation would have been prevented. The manager noted that OG had two options: accept their roster as it is or sign a superstar and adapt their Dota 2 roster around them.
