Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov said that he actually started his esports career not in Dota 2 he first played qualifiers in Counter-Strike.
The Team Spirit manager talked about this during a Twitch stream.
“I got into esports partly because of CS. I played CS, I say, I really liked it and all that. Even back then I was interested in all this stuff. But esports at that time was like this: you came, paid money to play in qualifiers and that was it. There were no salaries of course, and nothing else either. Well, there were some, somewhere, like in Virtus.pro, those guys, but even there they were small”
Korb3n noted that he played in a mix, and that the pro scene basically did not exist back then. Moreover, players had to pay in order to participate in qualifiers. According to him, he did not manage to achieve any serious success, and he dropped this idea, until he was offered to try himself as a manager of a Dota 2 roster.
“Then I just gave up, completely left CS. After the army I started playing Dota, I liked it, and that was it. And then a mutual acquaintance wrote to me saying that a Dota team needed a manager. ‘Do you want to try?’ I said, ‘Yes, let’s do it’. And that was it, that’s how it all started”
After a long break Korb3n became interested in Dota 2, and as he emphasized, it was after that when his acquaintance offered him a position, from which his path in MOBA esports began.
Also let us remind that earlier Denis “Larl” Sigitov changed his nickname after
