Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov believes that BLAST treated
Team Spirit unfairly by disqualifying the academy roster from the BLAST Slam 6 qualifiers, as the team did not violate any rules.
The club manager commented on the situation during a Twitch stream.
“What BLAST did here is pretty absurd. Spirit are not participating in the qualifiers, so why academy teams are not allowed to play in qualifiers is completely unclear, it’s absurd. Team Spirit are not in the qualifiers — there is no conflict of interest. A disqualification could make sense if there was some kind of benefit, but I’ll say it again: there is no Team Spirit roster in either the open qualifiers or the main qualifiers. So banning participation in both open and main qualifiers is a violation of their own rules”
Korb3n stated that Team Spirit did not take part in the open qualifiers, so
Team Spirit Academy did not break any rules, as there was no conflict of interest. According to him, the situation in the qualifiers turned out to be absurd, and the tournament organizer allegedly violated its own regulations. He also called BLAST weak when it comes to qualifiers, pointing out that this is one of the TO’s problems.
“Overall ****, I just hope that other tournament operators will be like before. BLAST clearly have problems with qualifiers — they are very weak in this aspect. BLAST are a very weak TO when it comes to qualifiers. I hope other tournament organizers, like before, will only solve problems when they actually arise”
In the end, Korb3n hopes that other tournament operators will not introduce similar restrictions, which the club considers absurd.
