Karrigan explained why he didn’t tell his teammates about his plans to leave Faze

Finn “karrigan” Andersen stated that he did not inform his former teammates at Faze of his plans to join Team Falcons because he feared losing the team’s trust in the event that negotiations fell through.

The player made this statement in an interview with HLTV.

“When I found out that Falcons were interested in me, I realized it would be difficult. There was a week left until the roster lock before the Major, and a few months ago I had signed a new contract with Faze—I knew the buyout would be substantial, and the negotiations wouldn’t be easy. After the first two days of talks, it seemed like nothing would come of it, but then, after another day or two, there was hope. At that point, I didn’t say anything to the team because if I had and it hadn’t worked out in the end, I would have lost the team’s trust.”

Acording to a statement by Finn “karrigan” Andersen, the esports player anticipated difficult negotiations regarding his transfer, the outcome of which he was unsure of. As soon as the possibility of a move to Team Falcons was confirmed by both organizations, he wanted to share the news with his teammates himself, but Faze’s management beat him to it. Nevertheless, karrigan added that he later discussed the news of the transfer with the team.

“As soon as both sides confirmed to me that my transfer was possible, I wanted to tell the team, but by that point management had already informed the players themselves, so unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to tell them myself. After management’s announcement, I spoke with the players personally and in the group chat—this was even before all those leaks. So the players were already aware of it before the leaks, because everything happened very quickly.”

As a reminder, earlier Russell “Twistzz” Van Dalken admitted that Faze management had discussed the possibility of Finn “karrigan” Andersen leaving the roster with him even during negotiations about the player’s return to the team.
