A famous reporter Richard Lewis has alleged that the ESL allegedly approached casters to lower their charges under a threat.
That is something he said in his new article. The journalist gave out this information, citing one of his sources.
“For instance when the Dota’s largest tournament operator says it will reduce its workforce if you do not agree to a reduction in fees – or host fewer tournaments – you have to. Nobody wants to risk the loss of his job so ultimately everyone agreed”
According to his other anonymous source, these requests from ESL have become quite common and hosts as well as commentators had no choice but to accept. The journalist also tried to reach out directly to ESL for comment on this issue but he claims that they declined speaking about it.
Remember how after a ban wave by Valve, ESL had adjusted rules for Dota 2 tournaments.
