Professional streamer Ilya "Illidan" Pivcaev stated that Valve's decision to release the update during ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 was unwarranted.
The former esports player made this statement during a personal Twitch broadcast.
"While the game needed a refresh overall, it feels like it wasn't the right time, especially in the midst of an important tournament," said Ilya "Illidan" Pivcaev.
Just a reminder, on the night of December 15-16, Dota 2 developers introduced a comprehensive update, version 7.35, bringing numerous changes not only to hero balances but also to other key aspects of the MOBA genre.
