Illidan Speaks About His Role at Team Spirit

Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev stated that his main responsibilities at Team Spirit include drafts and working on hero builds.

The new Team Spirit coach discussed this on Twitch.

“I think my specialty has always been builds and hero selection. So I can say that when it comes to ward placement, for example, I’m definitely not as good at explaining how to best use Smoke of Deceit or something along those lines.

But when it comes to my overall knowledge, I’ve simply been on the pro scene long enough to have accumulated a lot of knowledge about the game. After all, I started playing back in the days of the first Dota.

I knew some of my teammates as people, and some as players. I’ve interacted a lot with the guys from the club, so I already knew a thing or two about them. I just need to do my job. I don’t feel uncomfortable here, even though there really is a lot of pressure. But the biggest pressure comes from within yourself.”

According to a statement by Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev, Team Spirit’s new coach has spent enough time in esports to have valuable experience to share with the team. Since he’s already been in close contact with club representatives, the new coach feels comfortable on the team, though he acknowledges that the pressure is quite intense.
