The cause of the Dota 2 glitch that affected people all around the world has been found. It seems like a lot was wrong with this update, such as miscalculations in ratings and not being able to connect to the servers at all but what really happened is that they forgot about extending Crownfall; an event in game which caused everything else to fail.
Frank_London on Reddit made a post where he gave us some lines from code files showing how things went down during this time period – or rather didn’t go down because nothing worked correctly after developers ignored expansion packs for their events.

Valve released another update pretty quickly on May 2nd night itself being small enough (only 16MBs) just meant as temporary fix until more could be done later; still according feedback so far it seems like Crownfall is running smoothly once again reportedly.
Some players weren’t happy about this update, including Anton ‘dyrachyo’ Shkredov who stated that there were no changes made to game meta which is why most gamers were disappointed with it.
