Gaimin Gladiators has initiated legal proceedings against Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, Marcus “Ace” Helgard, Eric ‘Tofu’ Engel, and Alimzhan “Watson” Islambekov.
This was reported by esports journalist Richard Lewis on his personal website, citing statements from the organization's management.
"Quinn's words led to the termination of sponsorship support worth several million dollars. There were more than five separate instances of inappropriate communication and behavior towards certain demographic groups. All of this was publicly available on the internet. The dispute concerned various issues, including 18 months of unfulfilled obligations to sponsors on social media. The organization attempted to find a solution by modestly assessing the damage, as previously agreed with the players, after multiple warnings.
The players did not agree to any measures to participate in The International 2025. Moreover, they canceled the boot camp before The International a week before it started, which resulted in significant losses for us. On August 4, the players threatened that “they may not perform due to the problems that have arisen”; and on August 7, they announced that the team wished to terminate their contracts and participate in The International independently."
According to available information, the damages in the lawsuit are estimated at 7.5 million Canadian dollars, which is approximately equivalent to 5.3 million US dollars. The organization has the most claims against Quinn Callahan, as it accuses him of disrupting the renewal of a contract with a major sponsor due to the esports player's harsh comments about Eastern European players in matchmaking. The other players are accused of failing to fulfill their obligations to sponsors on social media.
Earlier, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov named the main culprits behind
Gaimin Gladiators' withdrawal from The International 2025.
