As the team got their first win without Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov, captain of
Gaimin Gladiators, Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp stated that although the team made some mistakes, winning against
Team Falcons claimed them a position in the grand final of BLAST Slam 2.
He was speaking in an interview after the match on Twitch.
“I got the impression during the first round that a lot of things were happening but the pace was slow. There were some pauses for technical issues, and that was about the time I died for the first time – classic. It was just off the walls after that. I was not following everything fully. Quinn was just going bonkers. He kept dying over and over, but we got some kills off that, and that’s how we won”
Seleri remarked that Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, who was the first to die on the first map, heavily contributed to the chaotic gameplay that ultimately helped the team win.
"We were in much more control of the second map. We just had to wait for the fights to happen, and from what I think, we did it. If we are a bit off, we probably would have lost”
The coach had something to say about the second map as well, where they succeeded because they made zero errors, something that enabled them to defeat such a powerful adversary. This is also the first victory for the team after Dyrachyo’s exit since they have made it to the grand final where they will contest against
Tundra Esports for the championship title.
For the record, the
Gaimin Gladiators captain has previously commented in a rather candid manner about Dyrachyo during his time of glory.
