On June 8, it became known that the OG organization announced about disband of the second Dota 2 roster. The organization made such a decision due to the rules of tournament operators, according to which two rosters from the same organization cannot participate in the same tournament.
In addition, OG decided to help players find a “New Home” before the contract comes to an end, but as it became known, the players decided not to continue the joint path. This was announced on Twitter by the former captain of OG.Seed Petu "Peksu" Vaatainen:
We have decided to part ways with OG.Seed roster, we were just planning to come from our break and get back into dota, but some of our players got offers, we had a talk as team and decided its better to part ways.
Sadly this corona thing kinda made things hard for this team. Timezone differences not being able to bootcamp at all or be able to play in bigger tournaments made it hard for us to keep going, and then with the offers that some of the players had i think it was going to happen.
No hard feeling with anyone. I enjoyed playing with everyone and getting to know each of the players and the staff that worked with us during these 8 months. I wish everyone nothing but the best on their careers. Definitely the best team I have been so far!
In the end, Petu added that he was going to take a break:
I will take a short break from competitive dota until i find something that i feel good about again. I have always found trying to be analytic/caster interesting and might try to look to do that in the future if the opportunity comes.
