Artem “fng” Barshak, previously the captain of
Virtus.pro, has, for the first time, admitted that at this stage of his life he still doesn’t have any housing despite having almost $1 million in prize money from his years playing professionally in the Dota 2 scene.
He made this disclosure on a Twitch stream.
“Let’s say if I were to give everything up and quit Dota. If I were to quit Dos and totally retire, I’d go broke overnight. I will have no income, and in this world, it’s pretty hard to survive without it. At the moment, I have no house, and the rent would be not that significant anyway”
The professional gamer acknowledged that he plays pubs for the primary purpose of winning and therefore will choose only the meta heroes. Still, he finds it difficult to restrain himself from streaming all of the action from the MOBA. In his opinion, he should at least spend some money on a rental place, as he doesn’t own one yet.
Such a declaration took many of his fans aback: given that so far his career earnings come down to $847,222, he should be quite comfortable financially. But perhaps the gamer wants to buy a more expensive house or invest in something rather than using his earnings up.
To note, not long ago, Ilya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk became the first to publicly comment on the return of Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov to professional Dota 2.
