Dmitry "Fishman" Polishchuk explained that he found Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak and Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf based on their matchmaking ratings for the
Creepwave lineup. Besides their high ratings, Dmitry also paid attention to their personal qualities.
The corresponding statement by Captain
Entity was made in an exclusive interview with Escorenews.
"We found them based on their matchmaking ratings. Crystallis and I were sitting and choosing players. There were SabeRLight- and ATF. The first one was ranked 15, and the second one was ranked 100. We were like, 'ATF is so meme-worthy, spamming "GG WP," all-chatting. We should pick him.' He's meme-worthy, you want him on the team. We felt like he needed to be rated up. We also asked SabeRLight-, I think, but he declined. ATF agreed.
We had three or four options for Malr1ne's spot. Stas had a not-so-high rating. Malr1ne was excited: 'Wow, Fishman is messaging.' He was still a noob back then, only played
Timbersaw. I remember insisting that we should take Malr1ne because he wanted to play with us. It's important for me when someone wants to join the team. At that time, there were guys better than Malr1ne; they were like, 'Oh, I need to think, maybe...' I don't remember exactly, but I think I passed on Malr1ne. That's how it turned out."
Comparing Malr1ne and ATF's initial abilities, Fishman notes that Stanislav had to learn more than just Dota 2 gameplay but also the basics of professional esports. ATF, on the other hand, began showing leadership qualities and good gameplay from the very beginning.
According to Fishman's account, the team faced difficulties finding a suitable candidate for the fourth position, and after several unsuccessful replacements, the team disbanded.
Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak considers his time with
Creepwave crucial for his career, noting that he gained valuable experience from his teammates.
Recall that Dmitry "Fishman" Polishchuk also pointed out Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf's weak spot, commenting on Sebastian "Ceb" Debs' statement about
Team Falcons' offlaner's limitations.
