Faker becomes a five-time world champion: Ahlilles names mid laners who can compete with him

Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok has become a five-time world champion in League of Legends during his career. Timur "Ahilles" Kulmukhametov, coach of 1win, stated that only three mid laners in the history of Dota 2 could compete with him.

He shared this on his Telegram channel.

"Faker has been competing at the tier-1 level for 11 years, playing in the mid lane.

In Dota, it's hard to imagine a mid laner being competitive at tier-1 for such a long time. Who can we remember?

Dendi remained at the top for many years until 2014-15. No[o]ne has also been at the top for a long time. I remember facing him in the pro series back in 2014. The same can be said for Topson. Can we conclude that it's harder to stay at the top in Dota for carry roles? And if so, why? Is it because of the creep denies and the endlessly expanding map affecting so much?"

Ahilles noted that Faker remains one of the best mid laners in LoL despite playing for 11 years. According to him, only Dendi, No[o]ne, and Topson could compete with the renowned player in terms of time spent on the pro scene and comparable successes in Dota 2.

However, in Dota 2, there is currently no one who can boast of winning the world championship title more than twice.
