The organizers will be paying six-figure sums to esports clubs, including those in Dota 2, as part of the support program. A total of 28 organizations worldwide will be eligible for these payouts.
The official announcement was made on the event's Twitter page.
"It's time to unveil the EWC Club Program, a unique initiative designed to promote sustainable planning for all participating esports clubs. Soon, 28 of the world's top clubs will join the program"
Each organization participating in the EWC Club Program will receive financial support in the form of six-figure payouts, aiding them in their activities and participation in Esports World Cup tournaments. The goal of this initiative is to ensure sustainable planning for esports clubs.
However, it is important to note that participation in the program does not guarantee automatic invitations to the Esports World Cup tournaments. Teams still have to go through qualifications in each respective discipline to have the opportunity to participate.
At the moment, all esports organizations with extensive competitive experience are eligible to apply for the program. The organizers have made it clear that amateur teams are not considered for participation. Details about the clubs receiving direct invitations will be announced soon.
As a reminder, Esports World Cup is an eight-week esports festival featuring teams from around the world competing in various disciplines. The event is scheduled to take place in Riyadh in the summer of 2024, although specific dates are yet to be confirmed.
