Alimzhan "Watson" Islambekov, the carry player for
Entity, admitted that for a long time, the team struggled in the game and couldn't adapt to the current meta, which led to defeats in many qualifiers.
He shared this in an interview with Metaratings.
“I would say we were in a slump for quite some time. We didn’t understand certain aspects of the current meta, lost ourselves in games and failed to communicate properly. There was some instability; we couldn’t finalize how we wanted to play”
He did not specify when exactly the team had these problems or which qualifiers they played, but eventually Entity regrouped and won 1win Series Dota 2 Spring. After that, however, new issues appeared and did not let them advance further in Dota 2.
“We talked a lot and analyzed replays, got back on track with our understanding of the game and won 1win Series Dota 2 Spring as well as qualified for Elite League. But then again — no DreamLeague Season 22 or PGL Wallachia Season 1”
Before Elite League Watson said that his team spent more time talking than practicing Dota 2.
