Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov stated that the huge number of tournaments has become a serious problem for the Dota 2 pro scene and also devalues matches not only for players but for viewers as well.

He talked about this during the KIBERKUKHNYA show.

“If we talk about Dota then right now the format is such that after The International there were already six or seven tournaments, it feels like tier-1 Dota goes one after another. In the morning Zhenya turned on some games on the TV. At first I thought it was a replay but no, it was another BLAST tournament happening in China.

And the games are just endless non-stop. It feels like both viewers and players get really tired of it, and everything becomes very similar. Basically you win a tournament today and tomorrow or the day after you can already drop out of the next one. And what is the value of winning then? Personally for me it’s not very interesting”

Dyrachyo emphasized that right after the world championship there are around five tournaments, which was not the case before. According to him players and viewers simply do not have time to rest. He also noted that victories lose their value, because after winning one event you can already lose the next one just a day later.

The player also pointed out that viewers do not like this reality either since all tournaments become repetitive. He explained that the audience starts losing interest in Dota 2 because of such a dense match schedule, admitting that he himself is also unhappy with this situation.

Earlier the player also named the real reason why he refused to return to the Dota 2 pro scene.
