Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov said that he was annoyed by the spray mechanic in Dota 2 because it complicated fights with creeps on the lane.

The player said this on Twitch.

“Because of the flag or spray, you couldn't see the creeps on the lane. It was annoying because it got in the way. When he tip you and you kill him, you tip twice. That's okay. It's just that this spray feature made it very difficult to finish off creeps. It's brutal.”

According to Anton “Dyrachyo” Shkredov, the spray mechanic was worse than tips because, in addition to putting psychological pressure on opponents, it interfered with accurately determining the position and XP of creeps. However, Valve finally removed the ability to use sprays in March 2024 due to numerous complaints from players.
