Paragon Events, the organizers of the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 in Eastern Europe, have disqualified the winners of the closed qualifiers - the team Not One Step Back gaming. The reason: unsportsmanlike behavior and account selling by the team's players.
Paragon Events statement:
We received information about possible unsportsmanlike conduct by a player from the team Not One Step Back – Kohxi.
The investigation we carried out showed that during a match between Esports Club Grozny and Alis Ventorus, which took place on August 3, 2022, as part of Epl S2, this player intentionally let his character die to make the final score even.
In addition, the sale of accounts by another player from the team Not One Step Back – B4x4zzz, was confirmed.
The results of the investigation were forwarded to Valve, and today we received permission to remove the team Not One Step Back from the tournament. We will soon announce who will take their place.
Paragon Events also expressed their gratitude to the manager of the Nemiga Gaming team, Eduard "zverHDD" Ashurkevich, for his assistance in investigating these incidents.
