The information was shared by several business owners from Southeast Asia about how much it costs to maintain a Dota 2 team, stating that their annual spending is between $300,000 and $500,000.
According to AFK Gaming’s unknown informant.
Salaries vary from $1,000 to $10,000. The largest expenses are for gaming houses or boot camps. Also during trainings, teams also pay for chefs, psychologists and other specialists involved in the learning process.
Owners of organizations say that the cost of maintaining teams in Western Europe is much higher—$50-100 thousand per month (excluding transfers which may amount to $200 thousand). And even this isn’t the limit for the region.
It should be noted that prize money from winning Dota 2 tournaments is not the main source of income. Sponsorship deals are clubs’ income generators. In Southeast Asia such agreements range from $100 thousand up to $1 million. Organizations also keep 10-20% of prize earnings. Earlier on in-game bundles brought in up to thirty-forty grand a year but Valve has cut it down.

Team Spirit earlier. One could evaluate his transfer at several millions of dollars
