Dota 2 remembers Shrines a true nightmare during high ground sieges

On Reddit, people were reminded of the Shrines - special structures located in the base that provided the team with powerful healing at critical moments. These facilities were a nightmare for the attacker, especially when trying to storm the highground.
Shrines appeared in Dota 2 in patch 7.00 and immediately became an important part of strategic planning. They could be activated once every 5 minutes, gaining powerful health and mana regeneration within range. This often saved a team from complete failure when defending a base, allowing the defenders to survive even the most aggressive of fluffs.
The power of Shrines was especially strong when paired with heroes that could drag out fights, such as Tinker, Bristleback, or Oracle. Trying to get highground against an active Shrine could cost a team their entire advantage, as it was nearly impossible to initiate a fight in an environment where the enemy had instant regeneration.
Valve later removed Shrines from the base, citing the defensive side's too high winrate. Nevertheless, among the veterans of the scene are still alive memories of those times, when every offensive turned into a game with competent synchronization and taking into account the recharging of Shrines.
