Gold abuse has gotten so out of control that Valve is asking the Dota 2 community to help punish players who exploited the
Hand Of Midas bug. This may lead to one of the largest waves of bans for offenders.
On Reddit, players are being urged to assist in reviewing reports from matches, where the majority of complaints are related to gold exploitation.

Players are encouraged to be active in reporting violations, as nearly all complaints are about the
Hand Of Midas issue. Given that this has become an almost official problem, a major wave of bans from Valve can be expected soon. With the bug being prevalent in Dota 2 matchmaking, there may be numerous bans, including possibly for well-known players caught violating the rules.
Previously, a notable esports player was seen exploiting the
Hand Of Midas bug in several Dota 2 matches.
