Dota 2 Patch 7.34c: Treant Protector is new meta

As professional players and regular gamers adapt to the new meta changes in Dota 2 brought by Patch 7.34c, one support hero stands out and grabs attention: Treant Protector. He has significantly improved his win rates in public games this week, and professional players are taking notice.
Treant Protector Win Rate
According to data from the Dota Dotabuff, Treant Protector has showcased an impressive win rate of 54.15% across all skill brackets over the past week, making him the second most popular hero, just behind Witch Doctor. Delving deeper into statistics from Dota 2 Pro Tracker reveals that Treant Protector has achieved a 57% win rate in elite matches during the same period.
Treant Protector at BB Dacha
This surge in popularity for the forest guardian is further emphasized by his presence at the ongoing BetBoom Dacha event, where he has been banned nine times and picked twice.
In one of the two matches he participated in, Treant Protector featured in a showdown between the teams Gaimin Gladiators and Beastcoast. Support player Melchior 'Seleri' Hillenkamp skillfully piloted Treant Protector, utilizing the powerful Overgrowth spell that turned the tide of the team fight, practically immobilizing the entire enemy team. Treant Protector's ultimate ability, Overgrowth, is one of the few crowd-control spells that maintains a root or stun duration of more than two seconds, introduced in Patch 7.33's New Frontiers update.
Treant Protector Build
Currently, the preferred skill build for Treant Protector involves putting two points into Leech Seed, one into Nature's Grasp, and two into Living Armor. At level six, players acquire the ultimate ability, Overgrowth. The focus then shifts towards maxing Living Armor, capitalizing on its global healing and armor restoration for allies.
Regarding items, Treant Protector is advised to build Arcane Boots and later progress to Blink Dagger for maximum mobility and preparation for team fights. Early Medallion can be upgraded to Solar Crest to reduce enemy armor and increase allied attack speed, while Aghanim’s Shard provides invisibility near trees and an additional root ability. Items like Force Staff, Meteor Hammer, and Aghanim’s Scepter prove useful depending on the dynamics of the game.
Is Treant Protector Worth Playing?
Patch 7.34b buffed Treant Protector's Leech Seed, increasing its damage and healing across all levels. Despite minor tweaks to cooldowns and mana costs in Patch 7.34c, Treant Protector's rise as a standout support remains unhindered. Give the new Treant Protector a try in your next game and experience firsthand how potent he has become.
