Information appeared that already in 2026 League of Legends 2 — the main competitor of Dota 2 among MOBA games — may be released, which could lead to an outflow of players from Valve’s project.

This was reported by insider 召唤师Park, although he later deleted the post.

According to his information, the second part of Dota 2’s main rival may come out in the second half of 2026. It is said that the essence of LoL 2 is that the game will be technically redesigned, and the MOBA will move to a new engine. It’s likely that all player progress will be preserved, while the gameplay and champion abilities will be rebalanced.

However, the developers from Riot Games have not yet commented on this information and have made no official announcements regarding the second part of their game. Still, if the information turns out to be true, a significant part of Dota 2’s player base might want to try the new project, which could result in a drop in Valve’s audience.
