DOTA 2 Innate Abilities: A Detailed Guide

The game mechanics of Dota 2, a popular MOBA strategy game were transformed by Patch 7.36. With this update came the introduction of innate abilities that grant each hero certain abilities from the very start of each match. These help his allies or him get advantages over their opponents.
Two types of innates exist in this world. Some provide a hero with a unique effect when activated while others change a hero’s ability in five levels and also give a free ability point on level one.
Innate Abilities In Dota 2
Each Dota 2 game hero has an exclusive innate ability that can be seen on character page or right at the screen. Between talents and powers, there is now another button in the game.
Abaddon

Abaddon's new innate ability is called FONT OF AVERNUS which makes him respawn faster by ten percent (10%). This ability does not require any user action for activation purpose as it is passive and cannot be leveled up later on.
Anti-Mage

MANA BREAK has been turned into a passive skill now. With skill points it can be leveled up but no longer slows down its target upon full drain by default as in new patch release.
Mana burned per hit is equal to sixteen/twenty three/thirty/ thirty seven/ forty four mana points.
Maximum mana burn per hit 0.8/1.6/2.4/3.2/4%.
Axe

Axe gained new innate Coat Of Blood ability which gives +1 armor after killing every enemy instance (11) and twice more than usual when performing Culling Blade skill (12). It remains passive throughout and cannot be leveled.
Bane

ICHOR OF NYCTASHA is Bane’s unchangeable passive innate ability that ensures that all of hero’s items are evenly leveled up.
Batrider

The SMOLDERING RESIN innate ability has been added to this hero, which increases damage by 15% every second. It does not pump as it is passive.
Beastmaster

In the new update, Beastmaster’s INNER BEAST is now his inherent passive ability. From now on it affects only his character and units underneath.
Attack speed bonus is currently 5/10/25/40/55.
This skill can be upgraded using skill points.
Bloodseeker

SANGUIVORE is an innate ability, which depends on the Bloodseeker's level. It recovers 25 health per level +1% of maximum health of a unit, when an ally kills an enemy within half the price or 300 points around them.
Bounty Hunter

BIG GAME HUNTER passive skill gives kill streaks to Bounty hunter for killstreak or assisting in killing quests by increasing gold by ten percent (10%).
Brewmaster

Drunken Brawler from Brewmaster has been made into another passive innate ability.
Earth Brawler's armor: 1/3/5/7/9.
Earth Brawler's magic resistance: 4/8/12/16/20/20%.
Storm Brawler's evasion: 10/15/20/25/30%.
Storm Brawler's speed increase: 4/6/8/8/10/12/12%.
Fire Brawler's multiplier: 120/135/150/165/180%.
Fire Brawler's attack speed: 10/15/20/25/25/30%.
Void Brawler's status resistance: 4/8/12/16/20/20%.
The Void Brawler's deceleration: 5/10/15/20/20/25%.
Bristleback

The passive innate ability of WARPATH is pumped using skill points.
Damage per stack: 5/15/20/20/25.
Movement per stack: 0/2/3/4%.
Stacks last: 12/16/18/20/20 seconds.
Maximum number of stacks: 4/8/10/12.
Broodmother

With SPIDER’S MILK, every second Broodmother and controlled units within a 600 radius will restore four percent of the enemy’s health for three seconds.
Centaur Warrunner

Every 120 seconds, RAWHIDE's passive innate ability adds 40 to Centaur Warrunner’s maximum health.
Chaos Knight

The REINS OF CHAOS passive innate ability casts an additional illusion of Chaos Knight with a fifty-fifty chance.
Chen

As Chen progresses in level, SUMMON CONVERT becomes more powerful as an active innate ability. It allows the player to call up another converted unit to fight beside him. This lasts for half a minute and is renewed after reincarnation of the hero. The hero can only summon one youngling at a time which dies upon his death. Fifty points are required for activation of this power.
Clinkz

When Clinkz dies or activates one of his other abilities he uses BONE AND ARROW’s innate ability by summoning skeleton archers that do not move for attacking enemies. Such skeletons have life times of fifteen, twenty, twenty-five and thirty seconds respectively and get destroyed after multiple hits on them.
Clockwerk

Clockwerk’s outgoing damage increases by 0.3% per point of armor due to ARMOR POWER's passive innate ability.
Crystal Maiden

Blueheart Floe is Crystal Maiden’s passive innate ability that enhances her mana regeneration rate by half again as much as it was before.
