Dota 2 Olympic esports games

Dota 2, as one of the most popular esports disciplines, may become part of the digital equivalent of the Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee is already considering organizing such competitions.

This is indicated by a statement from Thomas Bach, the President of the IOC, made during a New Year's address on the organization's official website.

"The digital revolution, artificial intelligence, and esports open up huge opportunities for us. We need to seize this now. That is why the IOC Esports and Gaming Liaison Group is exploring the possibility of creating Olympic esports games"

The possible list of esports disciplines has not been announced yet, but it is likely to include Dota 2, League of Legends, CS:GO, and other most popular disciplines among esports athletes.

There are reports in the media that the first Olympic esports games could start as early as 2026, and Japan may host them. However, there have been no official announcements from the IOC on this matter yet.
