Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin suggested that Valve change Dota 2's ranking system and introduce rewards for players' MMR ratings, which would provide an incentive to grind ranks.

He revealed this during a stream on Twitch.

"There is a plus in Warcraft compared to Dota 2 - it's seasonal. You upgrade your ranking, you get all sorts of perks: mounts and achievements. Then a new season, and you again have 0 rating, it's cool.

Dota 2 lacks that. There are a lot of pts now, Satanic has 17.5 thousand of them, probably. We need to get this updated, you *** achieves, trophies reworked.

***** me this now sit and grind to 20k MMR? What's the point of that? ***** would be if they gave out seasonal sets for ranks. For top 100, top 10 and top 1 it would be cool to give out red gear that can't be sold or transferred. Valve should reward players for playing its game"

DM noted that other games give out rewards for seasons based on success, and the pro player would like to see the same system in Dota 2. According to the cybersportsman, Valve should reward and incentivize players who are particularly active in matchmaking.

According to him, now there is no point in grind MMR up to 20 thousand, because there are no rewards for it. In his opinion, it is worth giving an incentive to users to raise their rank.

Recall that earlier Mark “Mangekyou” Kharlamov revealed an abuze that allows you to gain up to 300 MMR in one match Dota 2.
