Infernus is among the great characters in Deadlock especially for the reason of his speed and his ability to do damage over time. His battles revolve around burning effects while applying more effects on the enemy and preventing them from moving. For a seasoned player, Infernus is capable of being a nuisance in team fights as he can take a lot of damage while dishing out a lot of his own. In this article, I will be explaining how best to use Infernus’ abilities at the various stages of the game alongside his strengths and weaknesses.
Overview of Infernus in Deadlock
Infernus is best suited in the ranged DPS role and he performs well in that role due to his passive fire damage that is constantly applied making it harder for the enemies to form up. He is quite able to wreak havoc on the battlefield due to his passive, and while it may be a disadvantage since there are plenty of enemies in the fight already, the more enemies there are, the more damage it deals. But while his active ability is great, he requires a lot of teamwork in ranked lobbies as he is unable to move vertically.

Catalyst (1) Catalyst can be referred to as molotov style ability and it inflicts slow onto movements and increases sharpened: AoE damage that Infernus does to any enemy within this area. Its also important to note that for the fights to be effectively waged and Infernus’ lifesteal and damage output to be maximized, Catalyst should be utilized. However, in order for utilising Catalyst, it is important to engage first with target tanky heroes or those who are capable of healing others to apply pressure on the enemy.
Flame Dash (2)
Infernus has the ability to move across the battlefield leaving a trail of fire, that slowly burns his enemies and this ability is called Flame Dash. Flame Dash is an important aspect to have as it enables Infernus to close the distances that may exist when attacking, also leaving the option of escaping in case things don't need to go his way.

Concussive Combustion (4)
This is Infernus’ ultimate ability “eltear” where Infernus goes into self-detonation and becomes an AOE bomb stunning everyone around him for a few seconds. This ability is useful in starting teamfight or to mess up the enemy team's backline.

Infernus Build

There are some useful strategies one can use to play as Infernus in Deadlock which rightfully stands tall with the rest of the components of the great game that is Xbox. One of these strategies incorporates associated damage wipes alongside Lifesteal while making use of tanky items. It is critical to note that Infernus’ first goal for each of the battles should be setting ablaze as many enemies as he possibly can while focusing secondly on his passive to maximize his damage output and most importantly remaining alive in the aim fights.
Early Game Build
The very first step in using this strategy as Infernus requires one to enhance their ammo capacity and spirit by using Ammo Scavenger with 500 souls, this deepening Infernus’ survivability. Thereafter increasing the amount of health whilst adding an effect of Lifesteal using Enduring Spirit with 500 souls makes a whole lot of difference when being faced in team fights. Finally in the early game in order to fully utilize Infernus’ survivability the use of the Infuser is recommended which aims towards strengthening the burn effects.
Once everything from the early game ends use the Flame Dash to fight and refresh burn effects on and on, furthermore while all of this is happening do remember to focus on your passive and push your enemies.
Mid Game Build
Things change during the mid game while playing with Infernus, this is primarily because he becomes an aggressive character. Using the Toxic Bullets once you have acquired the 3,000 souls and the Suppressor with the 1,250 souls not only allows for perfect synergy during the game but helps stave off enemies and allow supports to defend Infernus in any dire situations.
It is highly recommended to increase the Lifesteal in order to grow your DPS and resiliently engage the enemies during mid-game skirmishes, all the while this is happening make use of the extra damage to further increase your Lifesteal.
Late Game Build
Finally using Ricochet in excess of 6200 souls allows Infernus to obliterate multiple enemies. However, in order for Infernus to reach such a position one must keep progressing and leveling up during the game.
Colossus (6,200 souls) – Boosts the defensive capabilities making Infernus a hard target to kill.
Improved Spirit Armor (4,250 souls) – Helps in reducing the spirit damage taken and thus increases survivability.
By the late game, It would be safe to assume Infernus has all defensive items and even his passive and active damage will in theory be more than enough for him to wipe out his enemy targets.
Tips for Playing Infernus
Early Game: Concentrate on zoning out your lane foe and trying to get as much farm as possible. You can Flame Dash to move quickly between your buffs or to gank.
Mid Game: Try to take part in teamfights. First use your ultimate by casting it to start the attack or to break up the enemies’ formations.
Late Game: When you get Ricochet and Colossus, start joining your team the bruiser you are, and deal massive AoE damage while keeping up with the Lifesteal.
Conclusion
In the game Deadlock, Infernus is one of the most volatile characters who can demolish his opponents during teamfights with his damage-over-time skills and movement. To execute his playstyle effectively, one should have precise positioning and timing, however when built properly there is no limit to what Infernus can do and how much he can dominate the fights.
