Deadlock by Valve has received a major update with a mode featuring several unique heroes. However, players won't be able to immediately access this new mode; they must first meet a key requirement - play a certain number of matches in standard ranked games.
What is Deadlock Hero Labs?
Hero Labs is a unique game mode in Deadlock designed for testing new heroes at very early stages of their development. In this mode, players can try out heroes that are still in active development and not available in regular matches.
How to Play Deadlock Hero Labs
Hero Labs operates during limited hours - from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST). To gain access to the mode, players need to have played at least 50 standard games.
Matches in Hero Labs are identical to standard games, except for the addition of new heroes that are at various stages of development. These heroes may have temporary names, abilities, and resources, all of which are subject to change during testing. Heroes in this mode are often removed, updated, or reintroduced as their mechanics and concepts evolve.
What Sets Hero Labs Apart from Regular Deadlock Matches
One of the key features of Hero Labs is that the heroes being tested may be modified or removed based on player feedback and improvements made by the developers. This gives players a chance to see firsthand how the characters and mechanics of the game develop over time.
If a player queues for a new hero and doesn’t get them in the first round, they will be given priority in subsequent games to try the hero.
Which Heroes Are Available in Deadlock Hero Labs?
Currently, there are 7 heroes exclusive to Hero Labs, all of which are in early testing stages and may be changed depending on player feedback and the game developers' plans.
