Valve has finally introduced a ranked mode and MMR system in Deadlock, similar to the mechanics found in Dota 2.
This was announced on the official tester forum.
How to play Ranked Mode in Deadlock
To participate in ranked matches, players need to have at least 50 games played. Those with behavior-related restrictions, such as voice/text chat bans or report misuse, will not be able to queue for this mode.
How Ranked Mode works in Deadlock
The ranked queue will be available for solo players only and will operate in limited time windows: from 1 PM to 4 PM and from 7 PM to 10 PM local time. Each region will offer multiple time zones to choose from, with the option to change it once a week. Players will be automatically connected to the server with the lowest ping.
In ranked matches, players will only face opponents with the same medal level. The system will feature 11 medals, each with 6 levels. Every Tuesday at 8 PM GMT, the system will analyze all matches and update medals based on player performances and those of their opponents.
MMR in Deadlock
To earn a medal for the week, players must play at least 7 games. If a player has not played enough matches, their medal will be temporarily marked as undefined.
The ranked queue will open on Tuesday, October 15th, at 8 PM GMT, with the first medals being awarded on October 22nd. The game interface will feature a panel where players can track the history of their medals.
It's worth noting that this mode has been a highly anticipated update for many Deadlock fans, who have long requested its introduction. Moreover, the ranked system and MMR setup are expected to kickstart the development of the Deadlock pro scene.
