Cloud9 disbanded their Dota 2 roster and withdrew from participating in BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, after being in existence for only a few days.
This was announced by the team's coach, Filipe "Astini" Astini, on his Telegram channel.
"We won’t be playing in the tournament qualifiers with this roster. It's not Cloud9's fault. There were some issues that couldn’t be resolved in the contract by Sunday, which was the final deadline for signing the roster. The announcement was canceled at the last minute (we were planning to sign the players on Monday)"
Astini explained that the signing fell through at the last moment, but emphasized that the organization wasn’t to blame. Instead, multiple factors contributed, including immense stress, an overloaded schedule, and unrealistic contract deadlines, all of which they had to manage within just 7 days.

"This situation is surreal. My nerves are on edge. I've never experienced this level of stress because of Dota. It's absurd to have only 7 days to finalize a roster after the end of TI13, which is supposed to be a rest period. I hope this changes in the coming years. The stress from these reshuffles is inhumane. The afterparty at TI wasn’t even a party—it was a place for negotiations. I heard complaints from other players as well"
According to him, other players have similar grievances, so it's likely that
Cloud9 won’t be the last team to face such issues at the start of the new Dota 2 season.
Former Cloud9 roster:
Remco "Crystallis" Arets
Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko
Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin
Edgar "9Class" Naltakyan
Andrey "Dukalis" Kuropatkin
Earlier, Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov stated that Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov is ready to carry for
Team Spirit.
