BLAST Slam organizers have reduced the prize pool for the upcoming tournament

Tournament operator BLAST has announced the format for the upcoming BLAST Slam VIII Dota 2 tournament, reducing the prize pool to 750 thousand U.S. dollars.

Sixteen teams will participate in the upcoming tournament, and the event itself will be divided into two stages. The group stage will be held in a LAN format, after which the remaining six teams will compete in the playoffs at the arena. In the new format for BLAST Slam VIII, the organizers have eliminated BO1 matches. It is worth noting that the prize pool for previous tournaments in the series was $1 million.

As a reminder, Team Yandex’s Dota 2 roster emerged as the winner of the previous tournament in the series, BLAST SLAM VII.
