Belonogov: «I think that chances to host The International in Kyiv are negligible»

Maxim Belonogov is the General Producer at WePlay! Esports gave an interview in which he spoke about the prospects of eSports in Ukraine.
In April 2020, it became known that Kyiv had submitted an official application to host The International 2021. According to Maxim, Kyiv still has a problem with the venue for a tournament of this magnitude:
We explored this issue in detail as soon as we learned about Valve intentions. The main problem of Kiev is the arena. The organizer of The International has set certain requirements, and there is no arena in the capital of Ukraine that would fully fit them. Therefore, I think that chances to host The International in Kyiv are negligible.
But Belonogov says that in the near future WePlay! will open their own arena:
WePlay! Esports hosts professional eSports tournaments and develops an ecosystem for players of all levels. The first eSports arena of our company will open in Kiev in the coming months.
In conclusion, Maxim claims that Ukraine can become one of the five leaders in the development of eSports:
As a country, we have everything we need to enter the top five world leaders in the development of eSports. We have teams, infrastructure, specialists, arenas, and everything the industry needs.
