Former “Felipe” Astini confirmed that the Astini+5 roster was disbanded, because the team had problems with results, match schedule, and some players may soon move to other clubs.

He told about it in a comment for OFFSTAGE.

“When me and DM decided to build a team, we had big hopes. We wanted to make a roster capable of winning The International and the Riyadh tournament. I think anyone who watched our games could see, that we were not that team, and probably never become it. Our gameplay was not exciting”

Astini said that they were aiming for the two biggest tournaments of the year, but quickly realized they were not on that level, and even wins didn’t feel satisfying. According to him, they just wouldnt have enough time to fix all the issues before The International 2026.

“So DM and me decided, that if we want to build a long-term team, it makes more sense to start after The International 2026, so we have more time to prepare, real organization and more chances to try different players.

Also, during the break some players got offers from other teams, which makes it harder to stay together without org support. So I cant really say much about future. Me, DM and others are collecting offers and looking at options”

He also added, that without sponsors it would be very difficult to keep the roster together, and some players already got transfer offers. At the same time, Astini didnt rule out that they might reunite after the world championship.

The coach also mentioned, that he may try to build a couple of test lineups for upcoming qualifiers, if he decides to take a risk. However, he honestly admitted that the Astini+5 project failed, and he accepts his mistakes.
